Halloween

What a fun Halloween! We started the holiday a little early, with a carnival the weekend before. Jonah dressed up as a cute fuzzy chicken for the carnival. The costume was a bit big, but that means he should be able to wear it for next year. Halloween morning started off with a treat - donuts! Jonah LOVES donuts, or anything sweet, so this was a fun surprise for him. He eats the donut holes, since they are the perfect size for his little hands and mouth. Then we packed up and headed to the Wild Animal Park. The park was decorated for Halloween with lots of spooky spiders, skulls and pumpkins. We planned for Jonah to wear his costume, but true to San Diego, it was too hot! He had a lot of fun watching his favorite animals - birds, as well as petting some soft deer-type animals in the petting zoo. He was a good sport and enjoyed getting out of the stroller to do some walking of his own. Later that evening, we carved our pumpkins and Jonah helped by pushing our chairs out of the way anytime we would stand up! The pumpkins turned out cute, but we are looking forward to helping Jonah carve his own next year. Then, he got dressed up as the cutest scarecrow ever!! He wasn't too happy with the hat and the hood, but I let him hold some "forbidden" clips (he is ALWAYS getting in trouble for snatching them) and he seemed content to let the hat and hood stay on. I planned to take him around to visit some families from church, but things didn't exactly go as planned. He had a good time anyway and we had a great day!
