Winter Fun

We had a pretty fun December with a lot going on. The weekend before Christmas we went to Tucson to visit friends. It was a really fun trip, although a bit short. We'll have to go back again soon! Before we knew it Christmas was here! We had Christmas morning at our house, then loaded up and drove to Grandma & Grandpa's. We had Christmas evening with the Mason side of the family - then back to Bakersfield to have Christmas with the Karnes side on Saturday. We had a lot of fun and did a lot of fun Christmasy things. After a few days, back up to Visalia to spend time with the Mason side - then back home. Phew!
Watching Thomas on Grammy's new portable DVD player. He just needed a little box of popcorn!
All shnazzie in his Christmas outfit from Grammy.
On the train at C.A.L.M. to look at all the lights. He wasn't too impressed. Maybe next year.
Check out his cool hat!
Kickin' it with Grammy & PomPom.

What can I say? It was cold.
Christmas at the Mason's. Gavin, who is only six months younger than Jonah.

Uncle Dewey got him a popper. It was noisy love at first sight!

Christmas at our house. We had to prod him to keep opening presents. He just wanted to play with the first toy he opened!

The first toy opened. He just wanted to be left alone to play!
Feeding the ducks at a pond in Tucson. (Yes, they actually have water there!)
He couldn't quite master throwing the crackers to the ducks. He would smash them up and throw them at the ground. I'm sure the ducks had a feeding frenzy after we left!
He loves his Daddy! Here they're hangin' out in Tucson.
He loved to wear this little top hat that went with a stuffed snowman. He would bring it to us to put on his head, then he'd walk around the house really slow so it wouldn't fall off!

Cruisin'

Grammy and Pom Pom got a cool new car at Thanksgiving. So Dan put it together (which was not an easy task!) and Jonah got to take 'er for a test drive! He was so cute putting around the house. He even took Elmo for a spin!

Balboa Park

A few weeks ago we took Jonah to Balboa Park to explore the place and let him run free. He had such a good time. He got to play in the park and run everywhere! His favorite times revolved around the fountains. He LOVES to splash in the water!!

Box Fun

This goes to show how much fun you can have with a box and your Dad! (Minus the mishap with a spastic dog that occurred at the end of the video. Luckily everyone escaped unscathed, just a little scared.)

Halloween

What a fun Halloween! We started the holiday a little early, with a carnival the weekend before. Jonah dressed up as a cute fuzzy chicken for the carnival. The costume was a bit big, but that means he should be able to wear it for next year. Halloween morning started off with a treat - donuts! Jonah LOVES donuts, or anything sweet, so this was a fun surprise for him. He eats the donut holes, since they are the perfect size for his little hands and mouth. Then we packed up and headed to the Wild Animal Park. The park was decorated for Halloween with lots of spooky spiders, skulls and pumpkins. We planned for Jonah to wear his costume, but true to San Diego, it was too hot! He had a lot of fun watching his favorite animals - birds, as well as petting some soft deer-type animals in the petting zoo. He was a good sport and enjoyed getting out of the stroller to do some walking of his own. Later that evening, we carved our pumpkins and Jonah helped by pushing our chairs out of the way anytime we would stand up! The pumpkins turned out cute, but we are looking forward to helping Jonah carve his own next year. Then, he got dressed up as the cutest scarecrow ever!! He wasn't too happy with the hat and the hood, but I let him hold some "forbidden" clips (he is ALWAYS getting in trouble for snatching them) and he seemed content to let the hat and hood stay on. I planned to take him around to visit some families from church, but things didn't exactly go as planned. He had a good time anyway and we had a great day!

Pumpkin Patch '09

Can you spot my lil' pumkin? He's hiding in there! We went to Bates Nut Farm today to pick out our pumpkins. What a great day! The weather was perfect, there were lots of people there, and Jonah was in a great mood. We ate bbq sandwiches, had some homemade ice cream and looked through the arts and crafts fair. They even had a petting zoo. We had so much fun picking out our pumpkins. Jonah's favorite part was getting out of the stroller to beat on the jumbo pumpkins! Although, he also loved eating the ice cream! We're already looking forward to next year.

My little nut!

First Haircut

The time came for me to give my little guy his first real haircut. I've given him little trims before, to keep the hair off of his ears, but this was the big time. I was a bit nervous, but it had to get done. After a little snipping, it turned out pretty cute. He can still get some cut little baby curls in the back, but it's a little more shapely on the sides. And there weren't any tears (from Jonah or me!)
