forts

I've recently come to the realization that a mom of two boys must learn how to build a proper fort. So we spent an afternoon building some forts with blankets. The boys had a blast! It was so cute to see them hunt around the house for different things we could use to build our fort and then all the goodies they would need to shove into it! They spent a while going in and out of it before it lost it's luster and was torn down. I'm sure this will be a new past-time!

Bates Nut Farm

Today we took the kids and went out to Bates Nut Farm for our annual pumpkin picking. Today was more fun than normal, since several friends from church came out to join us. Super fun!! The boys had a blast and ran around like wild monkeys, which was alright since we were on a huge farm! We went on a hay ride, went through a hay bale/corn maze, enjoyed the bounce house, ate some yummy food, picked pumpkins and got to pet a lot of cute farm animals. What more could you want for a fall day?!? We all came home exhausted, full, with a car load of pumpkins and a day full of memories. I love fall!!
On a side note, so sorry about the order of the pictures. I still can't figure out how to get the pictures in the right order when I upload them! - That first picture is Henry with his favorite Frannie and Reagan on the hay ride.

Getting ready to start our day at the pumpkin patch

The Three Musketeers getting ready to run around the straw maze!

Jonah and Reagan on the hay ride. Somehow Fran, her mom and I ended up in the car with all the kids, while the rest of the adults rode in the car behind us. Hmmm. Coincidence? I think not.

RUNNING though the straw maze. Whew! We certainly got our work out trying to keep up with the three year old and the five year old!!!

Jonah and Reagan are best buddies!

Believe it or not, this was the absolute best picture I could get of all four kids in the cut outs. Seriously. At one point someone had a foot in one of the holes. How does that happen? If you look really hard, you will see Jonah's head on the boy in red and Henry's shadow inside the mom. Basically this is just a shot of Molly.

Best buddies going through the straw maze. It was set up so cute. The kids got a card with numbers on it and there were stamp stations hidden throughout the maze. The kids were supposed to find each station and stamp their card, then find their way out of the maze. Cute!

Love this photo of Jonah!! Henry was focused on picking up the pumpkin that weighs about three times more than he does! He kept calling them "apples."

Still trying to pick it up. Finally he realized it was more fun to roll it!

My CUTE boys!!!

Rolling pumpkins, or apples, whatever you call 'em!

Before we left, we went into the little petting corral. It was pretty cute but most of the animals were already full from being fed all day. Luckily, this pirate sheep was still hungry. So Jonah made good buddies with him. Yes, he was actually a pirate sheep. His patch moved and he was missing an eye. Arrrrgh!

Henry showing us where to get the best pumpkin.

Henry also made good friends with Blackbeard.
