sweet friends

We were so fortunate to live just a few street down from some very sweet friends. And even better, I go the opportunity to watch these sweet kiddos a few times a week while their mom had some doctor appointments. On this occasion, it had rained the day before and everything we wet and muddy. The kids really wanted to play outside, so we rounded up rain boots! We had enough to spare so all the kiddos could go out and play in the mud. They had so much fun and got SO dirty!!!

big fork and spoon

I bought these awesome fork and spoon soon after we moved into our house. I love them! I think they're funny and cool at the same time. But I couldn't quite find the right place for them. So they spent a lot of time hanging out under the kitchen bar area. Until these two discovered them. They had so much fun scooping up all sorts of toys with the spoon and trying to stab at other toys with the fork. Never a dull moment here!

preschool

I think I've already talked about teaching the boys preschool class at our homeschool co-op.  Anyways, for the spring semester, we got a bunch of new kids! It was fun to add some new faces and get a few girls in the class! The fall semester, we had six boys. It worked because we were studying bugs, but it was still fun to mix the class up a bit. For the spring semester, I decided to go ahead and teach a letter of the alphabet each week. I knew I wouldn't get through the entire alphabet, but I couldn't come up with a theme! So for the letter C, we learned about cats and played cat themed games and made these awesome cat puppets. The turned out SO CUTE!!! I love how Henry placed the eyes on his puppet. We like to refer to it at "Perry the catapus" because it has wide set, bulgy eyes like Perry the Platypus (from Phineas and Ferb).  Jonah's is so cute with it's cheeks falling off. I think Lucy got ahold of one and stretched it out!

This was my class with the exception of two students who were sick on picture day. Such cute little faces! It was a bit sad to end the year.

Sweet Girl

I LOVE this series of photos! My sweet girl. She loves to scrunch up her nose and snort like a little piggy! It is the cutest thing ever!

Update on Henry's Scar

Well, here are a few updated photos of Henry's head. This photo is how it looked after the bandage was taken off. Kinda creepy! It looks so huge. They stitched the bottom layers near his skull and glued the top layers to help lessen the scar. So the big globby stuff is just glue.

Well, naturally, Henry fell and busted the stitches/glue open. We were so careful. I let him run or play in the backyard at all. Everything seemed to be going well and he just tripped over his own feet and hit his head on a wood deck. The glue was opened in one spot and it was bleeding, which scared me. So I took him to Childrens Hospital - again. The ER doctor said there wasn't much they could do because they risked opening the entire thing up if they tried to remove the glue to put fresh glue back on. So, since the bleeding had stopped by the time we saw the doctor, they just sent us back home with the directions of "No running!"

Here is a picture of the little guy after the glue was peeled off. The scar is very fresh and red. Since this photo in February, we've been putting silicon scar strips and Mederma on it and it look amazing! It's very light and isn't raised too much.
