Disneyland - Final Adventures

Sadly, our Disneyland passes have expired. While it was SO much fun to have them, we'll be waiting a while before we do that again. Makes it more special! I went with the family in February for my last time. Didn't think it was a good idea to go in March, since the baby was due in a few weeks. These are all pictures from the trip in February as well as when Dan took the boys in March after Lucy was born. The boys have a special place in their hearts for Disneyland! Their favorite ride is the Casey Junior train. They love Dumbo and once they figured out this was the train from the movie, they thought it was the best thing ever!

Inside the cage on the Casey Junior train. My wild animals!

We watched The Sword and the Stone before our February trip, so Jonah was excited to see the sword and try to pull it out.

 Love this face!

He just woke up from a nap. Poor little guy!

On our February trip, we FINALLY got to ride the pirate ship. We have been trying to ride the ship on almost every visit but it was always put away. The boys LOVED it!

 Happy guys!

 My little buccaneer!

Jonah was super brave and rode the parachutes with Dan in California Adventures. Henry thought he wanted to ride it but (thankfully) he was too short.

Since he was too short, we played with his new car and watched Jonah & Daddy!

 My brave little guy!

Playin' in the Rain

A few months ago, we found some cute rainboots with umbrellas at Costco. So we got  pair for each of the boys.  They've come in pretty handy on rainy days. The boys love to put on their rainboots, grab their umbrellas and jackets and splash in the puddles. Jonah got a really neat remote control car for his birthday that works in water. So they like to take it out and drive it around in the puddles too. I love that they can still play outside even when it's raining!

Big Boys

In January we decided the boys needed to upgrade their sleeping situation. Henry was still in the crib and Jonah was sleeping in the toddler bed. We noticed Jonah's legs were touching the foot of the bed, so we decided it was time to redo the sleeping arrangements. We searched for quite a while and finally found a really great bed for Jonah off of Craigslist. The funny thing was, when Dan went to pick it up, the people selling it had a little boy around Jonah's age named Jonah! They were needing a bed with storage so they were selling this bed. It is perfect for our Jonah. It is the top of a bunk bed so it's raised and has the rails on it. He was SO excited to get the bed! He "helped" Dan build it and got to pick out a new bedding set. Henry was really excited to move into the toddler bed. No more cribs! He was happy with the bedding set we already had for it, but he did get to pick out a new sheet set for it. The boys love their new sleeping arrangement. Usually when they wake up in the morning, Henry will crawl into bed with Jonah and they will play together until everyone wakes up. It's really cute!

The Fly

We have a rule about leaving the house. When we open the door, the boys are to go out and wait by their rocks. We have two rocks outside the door and they've decided whose rock belongs to who (important stuff!).  Anyways, it resolves the issue of them running down the walkway before we're actually ready to go. Well, I've been planning on them painting their rocks for a while now, but for some reason just haven't gotten around to it. Since Jonah is sick with a nasty cold, we've been looking for fun things to do inside. Painting the rocks was the answer! Jonah was very focused on painting his rock to be a fly. Not sure why, but it sounded simple enough. So yesterday he painted it all up. It's brown with red and pink on it, like all flys. Today I added the wings and face to it. He was SO PROUD of his fly!! So he got to do the honors of putting it back in it's spot outside the front door.  Henry of course, wanted nothing to do with getting dirty or painty. Maybe another time!

The fly in all it's glory.

Christmas Day

After we opened our presents, ate breakfast and opened our stockings, we decided to take the boys out to Lake Miramar so Jonah could ride his big boy bike. The weather was perfect and it turned out to be so much fun. There were a lot of people out at the lake walking and some other kids with their new bikes going for family rides together. Dan took his new bike too so he could ride with Jonah. Jonah had so much fun and did really well for his first time on a big bike. He would even balance at times without using his training wheels. Hopefully before too long, he'll be riding without them!

Henry took his monster truck too. Luckily it has a little handle that can be attached on the back. So I took him for a walk in it while the "big boys" rode their bikes.

Jonah was so proud to be riding with his dad. Dan said Jonah kept telling him, "I'm big like you." So cute! I love that he wants to be like his dad!

Taking a little rest before we head back to the car.

Christmas 2012

Christmas was so much fun this year. As the boys get a little older and understand what happens on Christmas, it becomes a bit more exciting! Although we still had to wait for Henry to wake up around 9 before we could start opening presents!

Jonah enjoyed "helping" Gracie open her presents from Santa!

Gracie got into the spirit and grabbed the wrapping paper off her present!

She got a squeaky hot dog and chicken leg from Santa!

Jonah bought Henry this little lantern and it was a huge hit! Henry still carries it around with him!

Henry helped Gracie unwrap her squeaky hot dog.

Santa brought the boys their big gifts this year. Henry got a little cozy coupe convertible, which he refers to as his monster truck!

And Jonah got a big boy bike complete with a helmet and bell!

Rainy Day Fun

The boys got the cutest little folders full of Thomas stickers, coloring sheets and glitter pens from Ms. Charlotte at church. They couldn't wait to open them up and play! Luckily, the following day, it rained all day long. So this turned into a really fun rainy day project. They stayed busy with their goodies for a long time!
