halloween '11

We had such a great Halloween "season" this year!! We started it off painting pumpkin lanterns with some good friends. Jonah and Molly loved making a giant mess and painting their jars. They both did a great job. Even Henry got in on the act and painted a little bit of a jar before I had to help him finish it. Then we went to our first Halloween carnival at Molly's school. It was super cute and like the little carnivals I went to as a kid. Jonah and Henry wore their costumes and played little carnival games. It was so much fun and it only cost us $7, which included four hotdogs!! And we came home with a giant bag of candy! Finally, Halloween night came and the boys got to go trick or treating for the first time. We went over to friends house and a giant mob of us all hit the streets. The entire neighborhood was set up for trick or treating and there were families and kids everywhere. It was great! Thankfully we practiced trick-or-treating at home, so the boys knew just what to do. Jonah was excited to wish everyone a happy Halloween! Henry started off by saying "trick" but was able to say "trick-or-treat" by the end of the night - and "thank you" after he got his candy! Such a fun night! Can't wait until next year!!

Covered in paint but having fun!

Jonah got his first face painting at the Halloween carnival. The girls asked what he wanted and he came up with a dinosaur all on his own! He sat so still and was very proud of his dinosaur!!

Very focused!

Trying his had at the cake walk. He was so disappointed when he didn't win his own gigantic cake. I was relieved.

Halloween night. One street set up this bus and lights so the street was blocked from cars. That way we could all just walk down the street. They also had fun spooky music playing. So fun!!

Ready for more candy!

My cute little scarecrow!

He was so excited to play with the pumpkin tops!

Cutest little puppy ever!

He was so proud of his costume. He picked it out all by himself!
